Music

As a group we all have decided for the music, we're going to record someone to sing the nursery ryme 'Ring O Roses' as we thought that would connect with the opening title sequence quite nicley.
As its a little girl that is summond and lashes out in a fit of trumatised, we thought 'Ring O Roses' will go as that is one of the main popular rymes known buh it also will go lovley with the 360 degrees shot of the ouija board.

Story-board change

As a result of changing the title sequence a little with the credits, we have choosen to draw a second story board that will fit our new opening title sequences and its changes:

re-shooting and location shots

As a result of the lack of our camera shots and angles we have decided to re-shoot. This will take place after school on Tuesday 26th, in our Drama Studio, however one disadvantage is that the dead line for this course work is on the 29th and we're all showing our opening title sequence in lesson on the 28th, and this doesn't give us alot of time to edit so we're all decided to use all spare lessons and will be staying after school Wednesday 27th for as long as need to get this project finished for the deadline.

We have decided to film in our Drama hall because the room is painted black which we thought would not only connot dark and scary but would also be great to have the lite candles against so you'll have that nice contrast and also the lighting of the candles on the vidoe camera would shoe up lovey and would have that 'glow' effect.

Thought processes throughout the project

This is my reflective thought processes throughout the whole project where i will explain whats has happened and my thoughts on my Opening Title Sequence.

Wednesday 13th January;
As my group was in an exam, i had loaded our footage and start cutting up and deleteing thing which are not needed for example laughing, and i was really getting quite worried and 'stressed' because i had notice the lack of Camera angles and shot and personally i felt it really had brought down the whole footage as i and others thought the lighting was lite perfect. Others in my group agreed with me, so now we all have decided as a group to re-shot our footage. And also i had noticed we didn't stick to our original plan; 'The Big Picture' because in our storyboards, we had 4 people doing the Ouija board and in out first shooting we only had two, so now we going to try and stick with that original plan

Wednesday 20th January;
Today in lesson, the whole group sat down and discussed our opening title sequence about reshooting and our ideas. Then came up with this new idea for the showing of the Credits, instead of having the pan across, we're going to make this prop; a old looking book witch somehows flys open onto the credits written inside in black ink, firstly we thought this would look much better but also it would fit into our opening title sequence much better, as the writing will be written 'childish' of which would be the child that is summoned through the ouija bored book.

Tuesday 26th January;
Today the group decided to make our prop for the credit, a book, and written a Diary Entry in it as an extra feature along side of the credit i wrote in a joined handwriting atalic, also we decided to write the title 'Childs Play' on the cover of the book instead of on the tags as we thought it would relate more.
Also i came up with this idea that we could use perhaps with the Diary Entry; we could have an over voice of someone (Girl) to say the Entry and said to the group and we might add in, not sure yet.
so i had wrote all the information that needed to be in the book and we also painted the title on the font of the book. This is a much more better approach to the credits as the way we were originally going to do the credits look really bad and fake, as there were on tea stained labels that were going to hang off old poison bottles, but that never happened as we couldn't get the bottles.
We are refilming today after school and hopefully everything goes to plan, may have to stay a little late buh luckely everyone is willing to. So lets see how it goes...

Thursday 28th January;
Today is the showing day to the rest of the class and im abit nervous, not completely finished however this is just a practise one so that groups can get feed back and be informed on how others think the sequence could be inproved and why they like it, soon will make a new post on our feed backs and will appear above.
Filming on the 26th went according to plan and the footage, personally, i think was better than the first time we shot, then the editing yesturday after school went okay too.
Today we also agreed to have an extra piece of sound in the background throughout the whole thing of a piano peice, of which my drama teacher Mr Elmslie will compose for us once we shown him our title sequence, we will be keeping the "ring o ring o roses" and that will appear a quarter way through on the 360 degrees. Showing time...

Monday 22nd Febuary;
before half term we had reshot the book scene using a tripod, which personaly i thought went okay, and also attempted the voice over however the rediculas lesson hours in our school had made it quite annoying, as we started the voice over the bell had went and as aresult of that it was hard to find a room quiet enough, the group was also discussing weather we should make the 'killer' a boy as well as the voice over as it could be more powerful, however im not sure weather we are or not, so better go talk to the group...
also before half term, when i looked st the opening title sequence, i was pleased yet not, i think our footage is good and went to plan, however, the group thinks not much editing is needed and i disagree a little because i think some shots need tightening and somehow change the order order of scene/shots as personality i think they drag on; too much ouija board and perhaps way too much book, i think once the music is composed and uploaded it would look better.
i also came up with this other idea during this half term whilst thinking about this project, that we could have had the setting in and broken down house of somesort, i had came up with this location at; Lesnes abby in Abbywood and thought it would be quite a effective place, as you had the tree's and the wind would have made the candles look nice, and if this idea was to be made, the candles and the lighting would look nice at the time of day that it starts to get dark. however it may be too late to change the idea...

Saul Bass

Saul Bass was born on May 8 1920 and died April 25, 1996.
Saul was an American graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, however he is best known for his design on animated motion picture title sequences. He worked for some of Hollywood's greatest filmmakers for roughly 40 years, of which included Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. His most famous title sequences are the animated paper cut-out of a heroin addict's arm for Preminger's The Man with the Golden Arm, the text racing up and down what eventually becomes a high-angle shot of the United Nations building in Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, and the disjointed text that raced together and was pulled apart for Psycho (1960).
